Dear Parents,
We are starting our Book Club in the Nursery. Each week the children will be able to borrow a book of their choice on a Monday and they will return it on a Friday.
The Book Club is an opportunity for the children to share their favourite stories with you and other members of their family. It is not a reading book. The most important things you want your child to do are:
- To respect books and look after them
- To get to know about books
- To come to love books
- To hold a book the right side up
- To turn to the front of the book to begin the story
- To turn the pages at the appropriate time when the story is being read
- To learn about language
- To tell the story from the pictures
